Article Abstract:
Construction contractor Willmott Dixon has been a family firm for many generations, controlled by two families. Sir Ian Dixon is the company's current chairman, set to retire at end-1997, while Peter Willmott, former chairman, retired in 1993. Their sons, Steven Dixon and Rick Willmott, have been chosen by their fathers to carry on the family tradition and are being groomed to take top posts at the firm. Both families feel that their traditional firm has more to offer than publicly quoted rivals.

Reid all about IT
Article Abstract:
Computers are becoming common among architects, according to Alex Reid, director-general of the RIBA. All practices should have a computer. Large practices need to invest in IT as some clients expect architects to use the same software as they do and to have CAD. Small practices need computers to allow staff to spend time on other more creative jobs.
