Sure-Weld Roofing System
Article Abstract:
Pennsylvania-based Carlisle SynTec Inc's Sure-Weld System membranes are ideal for requirements where environmental issues are of concern as their membranes are produced without the use of any chlorinated ingredients or plasticizers. Sure-Weld membrane is composed of three layers, namely, a TPO polymer base, strong polymer-reinforced fabric center or scrim and tough thermoplastic polyolefin compounded top ply. Sure-Weld Systems are available in seamless eight ft- and 10 ft-widths and measure a nominal 15- mils over scrim.

How flexible roof membranes are made
Article Abstract:
Flexible roof membranes are produced through a variety of processing techniques. The two major manufacturing methods for the production of thermoset and thermoplastic membranes are extrusion and calendering. Extrusion is a fundamental process in which molten plastic is extruded out of a barrel through a metal forming die. Calendering is similar to extrusion technology in that both are used to manufacture products ranging from thin films to thick sheets.

EPDM: a labor-saving alternative for reroofing
Article Abstract:
An increasing number of roofing professionals are recognizing the cost- effectiveness and other advantages of using ethylene-propylene diene monomer (EPDM) single ply rubber roofing for roof replacement and recover applications. Extensive research indicates that EPDM roofing systems provide equal or superior service life as compared to other roofs. Maintenance costs EPDM roofs have declined significantly by 92% from 1982 to 1991
