Today's mews
Article Abstract:
Architectural firm Hawkins/Brown was responsible for designing a pair of mews houses for owner-occupier and developer David Harrison in Bury St Edmunds, England. On each of the two plots, one wing of the house has been placed along the north boundary and the other wing towards the west, with each plot therefore gaining a large, square garden on the south-east. Placing the houses towards the west has ensured that they are overlooked as little as possible, and has also allowed an upper floor to be constructed in the roof space of the west wing.
