UK firms set for airport work take-off: DTI-led group will help companies compete worldwide on expected flood of jobs

The airport construction market is expected to see high growth over the next few years, with the Far East the key growth area. China is planning 41 airports, and money is driving the boom in eastern Europe. The Department of Trade and Industry has set up the British Airports Group, so that UK firms can compete. The Group will monitor possible projects, organise trade missions and award grants.

EC Harris lands Cabinet Office role
Article Abstract:
A team headed by EC Harris, one of the leading five quantity surveying firms in the UK, will be responsible for assisting the Cabinet Office in moving to a new, 20,000 sq mt headquarters building in London, England. EC Harris will take on a project management role, while Turner and Townsend will undertake the quantity surveying work and Thomas Saunders Partnership will act as architect.
