Sports teams can use several database marketing techniques to increase revenues from the Internet. For instance, the continuous creation of customer database is crucial in fostering loyalty and repeat business. New database members can be offered partial-season tickets, merchandise and travel promotions. Sports teams can also use their Web sites to attract customer registrations. For instance, the New Jersey Devils gave its Web site visitors a chance to win a ride on the Zamboni during a break in a hockey game at the Meadowlands.
