Wash. state lifts hull-cleaning ban
Article Abstract:
Washington has released an advisory which revises an earlier ruling that had prohibited commercial divers from doing in-water hull cleaning. The strict hull-cleaning guidelines were meant to reduce the amount of paint and other toxins discharged at marinas and to, subsequently, prevent the negative impact of antifouling paints on marine life. The ban remains enforced for vessels on which antifouling paint has been used.
