NVision makers a game of better marketing

Web page designer NVision Design has used viral marketing to distribute free games such as Big Willie Hunting, Frogapult and Elf Bowling to consumers. The games, which are sent as e-mail attachments from friend to friend, ends with an advertisement for the firm, complete with a link to the company's site at www.nvisiondesign.com. The marketing strategy has resulted in a 23% click-through rate among online users.

ePilot pays users to click to advertisers

Article Abstract:

eLiberation of Irvine, CA, the creator of the ePilot desktop portal, is willing to pay users of the portal if they click through to the sites of its advertisers. The company, which launched the ePilot on Dec 7, 1999, is hoping to attract as many 5,000 downloads daily by the end of the year. eLiberation's marketing strategy, which can pay active users an average of $70 monthly, has received unfavorable criticism from Jim Nail, a senior anlayst from Forrester Research in Cambridge, MA.
