Giving with confidence
Article Abstract:
A new scheme called the Accrediting Bureau for Fundraising Organisations (ABFO) has been launched which will make charitable organisations more accountable and encourage them to give the public more information about how they operate. Organisations will be accredited if they pass ABFO's inspection and they will be re-checked every two years. A list of these organisations will be published. ABFO will include a wider range of organisations than is currently checked by the Charity Commission.
