Shop around the clock
Article Abstract:
E-commerce is a transaction made electronically, but the term is increasingly applied to business conducted over the World Wide Web. It can reduce marketing and operation costs, reduce the dependence on intermediaries and allow clients to do business at any time from anywhere in the world. There are concerns about fraud and the three main security systems for payments over the Internet are Secure Socket Layer, Secure Electronic Transaction and HTTPS. Regulatory frameworks are being developed to match the fast progression of E-commerce technology. Credit cards are a common method of Internet purchasing, but micropayment systems are being considered for smaller purchases. Virtual shops can be set up on the Internet, and several banks have launched Internet banking services.
