NOAA issues new regulations on space-based data collection systems
Article Abstract:
The US National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) has updated its regulations on the use of data collection equipment that function on NOAA's geostationary and polar-orbiting environmental satellites. NOAA will no longer permit the use of its systems by government users. However, the policies will allow nongovernment environment use supported by a government interest. The new rules on its space-based data collection systems were published in the Federal Register on May 6, 1998.
