Structure of the Saxonian Granulites: Geological and geophysical constraints on the exhumation of high-pressure/high-temperature rocks in the mid-European Varsican belt
Article Abstract:
The Saxonian Granulites emerge in an extensional dome beneath a low-grade Paleozoic cover. Seismic reflection and refraction profiling show that the granulite dome is underlain by a reflective layer, exhibiting a NE trending antiformal structure. There is high resistivity in the upper crust, and an area of high conductivity under the high-velocity layer.

The deep structure of the Carmel fault zone, northern Israel, from gravity field analysis
Article Abstract:
The deep structure of the Carmel-Yizre'el-Jordan fault system is examined using combined techniques of upward continuation and horizontal gradient analysis. The results indicated the occurrence of a system of deep seated, N-S trending faults, possibly linked to the continental breakup of the region in the Triassic-Jurassic.
