A General Approach to Intertemporal and Interspatial Productivity Comparisons
A general growth accounting equation is developed to analyze the source of intertemporal or interspatial differences in outputs and costs. The desired degree of accuracy depends on information availability. Estimation is combined with index numbers to facilitate more accurate productivity comparisons.
