Australia rejects English practice
Article Abstract:
An Australian federal court has ignored English precedents by ruling that claims arising from marine insurance contracts are within its admiralty jurisdiction. The Admiralty Act 1988 limits a court's admiralty jurisdiction to actions in rem arising from ship damages.
