Building for the future
Article Abstract:
Completion of the Singapore Expo center is expected to increase the country's status in the international conference and exhibition industry. The 60,000 square-meter complex, scheduled to open in Mar 1999, offers six halls with flexible partitioning for adjusting to different size requirements. The center was built to replace two other halls that have closed and to accomodate larger productions.

Heavyweights awake (metal, machine building and power equipment in Russia)
Article Abstract:
There are some signs Russia's military industrial complex is ready to awaken. These areas include power engineering, matallurgical and metal-processing and giant machine building, which was the key to the Soviet industrial progress and is the largest industrial sector in Russia in 1998.
