Cordiant turns Scholz & Friends into third network

Article Abstract:

Advertising agency Cordiant is to spin off its German arm Scholz & Friends into a separate network. Scholz & Friends has nine offices across Europe, including sites in Budapest, Athens, Warsaw, Vienna and Madrid. Cigarette maker Reemtsma is its biggest client with billings of $339 million in 1995. The company will remain under the Bates umbrella in the short-term as the agencies share some clients.

A Few Thousand Between Friends

Article Abstract:

An investigation into the finances of Edwin Meese may prove an unsurmountable stumbling block to the confirmation of his appointment as Attorney General. The circumstances surrounding a loan to Mrs. Meese, which sparked the call for an investigation, are described. President Reagan, who has had a long political relationship with Meese, may have to withdraw his name from nomination.

Article Abstract:

France has repeatedly urged the European Economic Community (EEC) Commission to cooperate within the electronics industry, in order to compete internationally. In November 1983, France and West Germany signed an agreement to develop a joint cellular-radio telephone system. France is opening up some telecommunications markets to imports.
