Baldrige Award winners beat the S&P 500
Article Abstract:
An analysis of the stock market performance of the recipients of the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award (MBNQA) has involved assessing the risk-return relationship for all MBNQA winners. It was established that the MBNQA winners, as a group, outperformed the S&P 500 index. It was possible to identify the risk-return relationship between the individual MBNQA winners and the S&P 500 index by plotting the rate of return and beta of the 17 winners and the S&P 500 index.

Core journals: a reappraisal of the Diamond list
Article Abstract:
The Diamond core list of economic journals was created from citations data of the Social Science Citation Index. Some observers have questioned the list for the index' arbitrary assignment of value and quality to journals. Data envelopment analysis and integer programming are considered as alternatives for journal ranking. The two alternatives' multiple performance measures makes them preferable to the limited Diamond list.
