The age of innocence
Article Abstract:
Jackson Pollock was a painter whose life and works have developed into a myth, following his death at the age of 44-years-old. He changed the rules of painting and was part of a group of artists from New York who were influenced by surrealism and cubism. His works are being shown at the Museum of Modern Art in New York at an exhibition which emphasises the mythological character of this artist. His daring is evident in the works exhibited at this show.

Darkness into Twilight
Article Abstract:
Guatemala has recently made a slow turn toward democracy. However death squad activity has stepped up, after the July 1983 coup against General Efrain Rios Montt. Montt's administration was mad in some ways, but merciful in others. New president Mejia Victores is not as politically astute. A map shows army and guerilla activity.
