Article Abstract:
The issue of excessive executive and directors' compensation has been the subject of several critical reports issued by eminent financial industry groups. One such report was that issued by the Cadbury Committee on Corporate Governance, which called for revisions in the practices traditionally to determine the pay packages of executives and directors. Another critical report was the Yellow Book published by the Stock Exchange, which called for greater disclosure of the terms of the pay packages of executives and directors. Another critical report was that issued by the influential Assn. of British Insurers which expressed concern about the lack of a link between performance and executive and directors' pay. Other critical reports issued on the subject were those released by the Urgent Issues Task Force and the National Assn. of Pension Funds.
