Mandela Says No Thanks
Article Abstract:
Despite the opportunity to leave, Nelson Mandella, leader of the African National Congress, the major underground opposition in South Africa, remains imprisoned along with an estimated 750-800 South African dissidents. Although the number of political prisoners rose seventy-two percent last year over the 1982 figure, the prison death rate has declined dramatically. Pressure by the United States has caused the South Africans to declassify a large number of 'banned' people. Journalists are, with some exceptions, fairly free to report without censorship.

Habit, health, and happiness
Article Abstract:
Using habit as a means of ensuring healthful behavior can be problematic. The automatic and mindless repetition suggested by the term habit is not conducive to a positive attitude, a necessary aspect of health. Habit is also not easily applied to behaviors recommended by exercise, health and sport psychologists, and is inconsistent with philosophical definitions of happiness.
