Piece-rate payment schemes and the employment of women: the case of Hong Kong

Article Abstract:

Alternative theories such as the discrimination in the workplace can help explain the relationship between women's employment and piece rates. Discrimination in the workplace offers another explanation in that women are paid by piece rates due to shorter employment.
