Article Abstract:
The new right is a populist coalition of American right- wing conservatives who champion faith, traditional social values, and goverment non-interference. They are held together most strongly by what they are against. Their current priorities include a school prayer amendment and banning abortion. The new right rates members of Congress only twenty out of 535 are regarded as thoroughbred conservatives who remain nonaligned with the new right. The organizations which represent the new right are listed and briefly discussed. They are: the Conservative Caucus, the Viquerie Organization, the Moral Majority, National Conservative Political Action Committee, the Heritage Foundation, and Eagle Forum.
