Intra-industry competitiveness and economic growth
Article Abstract:
The existence of a positive relation between intra-industry competition and per capita income growth can be well established in an imperfect competition. Extra profits generated under an imperfect competition surpass those under prefect competition at the expense of payments to capital and labor. Increase in rental rate of capital, a connotation of a potent competition, in turn, raises the rate of economic growth.
