Article Abstract:
Central Washington University, US, Psychologist Roger Fouts does not agree chimpanzees will ever be able to take part in court cases despite his support of chimpanzees being given rights. Chimpanzees are able to show empathy to humans as well as other chimps, they can make tools and they can work on logical problems. Chimpanzee DNA is more similar to humans than it is to the DNA of gorillas. Harvard, US, Law Professor Steven Wise suggests chimps will be able to give evidence in legal cases sometime the future.

Sleep easy with your baby right beside you
Article Abstract:
A refutation of a report in the Lancet that supposedly claimed that babies under eight weeks old who share the same bed as their parents run a higher risk of cot death. It is argued that the report published in the Lancet was only of a provisional nature and that a number of issues with the data, such as the level of alcohol consumption of the parents, need to be addressed before firm conclusions can be drawn.
