A sift through sands reveals no grain of truth

Article Abstract:

An anthropologist asserts that a false pretext of terrorism in the Sahara-Sahel region was engineered by collusion between Algeria and the Bush administration. He contends that the securitization of the region for the purpose of militarization of Africa and its oil resources by the U.S. through the launch of a Saharan front on the War on Terror has led to anger, rebellion and political instability across the entire region, which was factually terrorism-free earlier.

Iranian reform dying in crossfire

Article Abstract:

The US War on Terror has destroyed the infrastructure of democracy in the Middle East, especially in Iran, though many Iranians believe the US could have a positive role to play if it worked to expand democracy in the Middle East. In recent years Iran has been damaged by internal and external unrest but isolating the country will not help spread democracy, peace and stability.

Collateral damage

Article Abstract:

By ignoring its own wrongdoings while pursuing the war on terror, the US is imperilling its own values and moral authority. The Global War on Terror, while carrying a US trademark, operates internationally as an umbrella under which all types of government policies are justified.
