Article Abstract:
A department administrator at the University of York provides advice for the use of email and when it is sometimes better to wait a while before responding to a message. It is pointed out that hastily written emails, especially those written with careless indifference or in anger, can easily come back to haunt the author as, unlike traditional forms of communication, once sent it can be very difficult, if not impossible, to retract the message or deny that it really existed.
