Whose elephant?
Article Abstract:
The question of the left's relationship to American patriotism brings to mind the story about a European intellectual emigre who discovering the Bronx Zoo wrote an essay on 'The Elephant and the Jewish Question'. Neither the left nor right do it credibly now, not least because leftist in flight from their own true origins cannot understand the American elephant any better than did that emigre at the Bronx Zoo.

Thinking like a genius
Article Abstract:
The ability of geniuses to think productively is what separates them from the non-geniuses. While ordinary men approach a problem by comparing and contrasting it with previous problems, geniuses examine and solve a problem in various ways and use other methods than the previously used ones.
