Article Abstract:

University admissions staff have been warned that fake exam certificates are on the rise as desperate students from overseas try to gain entry to British universities. Increasingly sophisticated technology is being used to make it more difficult to distionguish between fake and real certificates.

Four out of ten academics claim their freedom to express unpopular or controversial opinions is under attack, according to a poll by ICM for The Times Higher. Of the 502 respondents, 39 percent said their right to question received wisdom was in jeopardy.
