The lure of broad horizons
Article Abstract:
Figures released by the Fulbright Commission, which provides students interested in an American higher education with advice and scholarships, reveal that more and more students in the UK are looking for information about studying in the US. However, while the number of students looking for information is rising quickly, the number actually taking up places in the US has only risen a little, rising by 500 to 8,326 in 2003 vs 10 years earlier.

'It is hard to believe, looking at universities today, that they really disadvantage female students'
Article Abstract:
Women seem to have marched towards a real empowerment by holding key positions in almost every field and faring better than male students even in male dominated areas like engineering, law and surgery. In spite of this fact, many universities are giving special treatment to women by appointing special officers, and committees for women that are disadvantageous for them.
