Alusaf
Article Abstract:
South African aluminium producer Alusaf has nearly completed the 7.2 billion rand construction of its new Hillside Smelter, which is one of the biggest privately-financed projects in the Southern Hemisphere. The smelter will boost Alusaf's capacity to some 636,000 t a year vs 170,000 t a year, making the firm one of the world's leading 10 aluminium producers. The new plant came on stream in July 1995 and will be fully commissioned in 1996. The smelter has the advantage of cheap power thanks to a 25-year deal between Alusaf and electricity firm Eskom, making the plant highly competitive.

In praise of 'Huckleberry Finn.'
Article Abstract:
Parents should not object to the supposed racism in Mark Twain's 'Huckleberry Finn' since it can be taught to children as a denouncement of racism written in the 19th century.
