Lawyer rules aptitude tests out of court
Article Abstract:
The Law Society's search for ways of restricting access to the legal profession has included an aptitude test as a means of ascertaining a candidate's logical, literate and communications skills. Several objections have been raised, and include the discriminatory nature of the tests to ethnic minorities. A better approach would be to publicise the difficulties of obtaining suitable work at the point when a student is about to select Law as a career.
