Out of the frying pan
Article Abstract:
Home economics classes have evolved from its traditional role of simply being training grounds for future home makers and house wives. It has even ceased to be a program which attracts female students alone. Now, home economics courses have its fair share of male participants. Aside from this, diet, nutrition, consumerism, interior design and wardrobe management have been added to cooking and sewing classes which traditionally were the focus of home economics. The curriculum goals have been modified so as to promote outcome based education wherein teachers are held accountable for each students learning.
