Article Abstract:
Long-distance technology presents peculiar benefits and problems in teaching. One of the problems is the lack of individual attention to students, making it impersonal. An effective use of this technology requires technical competence in both the faculty and the students. The high establishment and maintenance costs are also a hurdle to its use. However, universities, colleges, and state education agencies are coming together to lessen the financial burden. The institutions using the technology show a high level of student satisfaction, with the technology meeting the students' goals.
