School-based peace building in Sierra Leone
Article Abstract:
The development of a peace education project, including the Peace Education Kit, in schools in Sierra Leone is described. The program, initiated by the World Bank, has involved working partnerships between local and international agencies and provides a case study of how schools can work with community to contribute to a national peace-building effort.

Implementing Community Peace and Safety Networks in South Africa
Article Abstract:
A two-year project that instituted school- and community-based mediation programs as Community Peace and Safety Networks in the Guateng region of South Africa is described. The potential role of formative and summative evaluation research to enhance respect for context, culture and community are discussed in relation to peace and education efforts.

From moral exclusion to moral inclusion: Theory for teaching peace
Article Abstract:
Moral Exclusion Theory is presented, as a way to systematize the study of complex issues in peace education and challenge the thinking that supports oppressive social structure. Hence peace education must be used as a tool for moral inclusion and for bringing about a world in which justice applies to all.
