Article Abstract:

The director of the London School of Economics (LSE) Language Centre describes how a foreign language outreach project helped to bridge a cultural divide between the LSE and the Archbishop Michael Ramsay Technical College. He believes that for the LSE students, the partnership gave them the opportunity to experience the struggles that inner-city schools, such as Archbishop Michael, face, while for the school students it gave them a chance to make contact with British and international students.
