The last sack of Assyria

Article Abstract:

United Nations (UN) sanctions have created a world heritage disaster in Iraq where impoverished locals have resorted to pilfering fragments of the Sennacherib Palace Site Museum at Nineveh, Iraq, one of only two preserved Assyrian palaces in the world. Assyrian sculptures are fetching unprecedented prices at a time when rampant inflation and critical shortages of basic necessities are forcing Iraqis to find new sources of revenue. Furthermore, the UN sanctions prevent the Iraq Dept. of Antiquities and Heritage from obtaining outside help to preserve Iraq's national heritage.

The last generation

Article Abstract:

Scientists are already aware that the human body can shut down if exposed to an overdose of hormone-disrupting chemicals, according to zoologist Theo Colborn. There is particular danger from synthetic chemicals which disrupt the endocrine system, which are at their most dangerous at low levels. There is now evidence that synthetic chemicals are having a negative impact on male fertility, and it is even possible that human males will become infertile by the middle of the 21st century.
