Treatment for ageing is possible

Article Abstract:

Researchers at the University of Sunderland, England, foresee the development of drugs that could retard aging. The molecular gerontology team at the university sees aging as linked to a small group of genes. Some symptoms of aging, like wasting muscles, may be counteracted by drugs, but the total lifespan is not likely to be changed. Research on aging can also provide insights into cancer which tends to appear in old tissue though cancer cells appear to be young cells.
