...defend the right of Hizb ut-Tahrir to speak at Middlesex University

Article Abstract:

The President of Middlesex University Student Union argues that Hizb ut-Tahrir, an Islamic political party that Tony Blair has mentioned might be placed on the government's list of proscribed organisation, should be allowed to speak at the university. The university has banned the group from speaking at meetings held on its campus but it is argued that, as the group is not actually illegal, this move only serves to stop students from questioning the group's policies.
