Achieving the promise of object-oriented software
Article Abstract:
Object-oriented (OO) software technology was expected to provide increased software reuse, improved cross-platform portability, enhanced interoperability and increased productivity, but those benefits have not fully materialized. The availability of new standards, such as Common Object Request Broker Architecture, should allow OO software's promise to be realized. Information on those standards is presented.
