Commotion continues on the Continent
Article Abstract:
Electronics distributors in Europe continue to struggle to define their strategies as European re-unification continues. European distributors are being caught up in acquisitions, investments and reorganizations as the opportunities begin to take shape and competition from US companies increases. The European electronics distribution market reached $10.5 billion in 1995 and is expected to grow by 10% in 1996. Issues that many distributors face in their marketing decisions include the level of technical support they can offer, the integration of their computer network and the number of inventory sites they can offer. Though major distributors are expected to flourish, small specialized distributors will be able to find their niche.
