Con Edison increases use of environmentally friendly cable

Con Edison has been installing cross-linked polyethylene cables to replace environmentally hazardous high- and low-pressure fluid-filled cables. Con Edison plans to add a total of 110,000 ft. of 138 kV solid dielectric cables during 1996, and an additional 250,000 ft. by 1997.
