DS-SS communication module

Article Abstract:

SMK Corp introduces a power line direct sequence spread spectrum communication module that conforms to the Econet standard. The module is designed for advanced home electric appliances, lightning and home network equipment. It contains a variety of devices that comply with Electric Lighting Communication Format for A of the Econet standard. The product is similar in size to a business card, with modulation and demodulation circuits contained in a single chip.

Infrared methods cut costs, add convenience to wireless systems

Article Abstract:

Communications equipment using infrared systems are expected to be the next area of growth as digital technology and the demand for wireless information systems continue to improve. Wireless infrared technology, the same tehnology used in ordinary TV remote controls, is seen as an inexpensive and secure media for transmitting data. However, there is a need to regulate infrared communications in order to establish a global standard for its use.

Iwata Electric develops, markets vehicle security system using portable phone

Article Abstract:

Iwata Electric Co Ltd has developed a unique automobile security system that uses a portable phone. The Tele-Alarm RF-14 incorporates a portable phone, which when activated sends an alarm message to the car owner's telephones in home, office or to another portable phone. At the heart of the system though is a set of radar and impact sensors that detects the approach or intrusion of a person and the vibration of the car.
