Honey, I shrunk the deficit
Article Abstract:
The US trade deficit in 1991 shrank by $66 billion from 1990 statistics. The Persian Gulf war and increased trade with Japan is partly responsible, but the main growth came from trade with Mexico, Brazil and other Latin American countries. Exports to Japan may slow, but Latin American trade should continue to grow.
