Hitachi Ltd's VK-C336 security camera is adaptable to darkening environment, such as the change from afternoon to night, with its automatic switch between monochrome and color recording. With the capability to monitor a site for as long as 24 hours continuously, the security camera takes around 20 seconds to switch from monochrome to color and around five seconds to switch from color to monochrome.

Victor Company of Japan Ltd (JVC) produces cheap CCTV security systems with fine picture quality through the use of extensive professional-use video technologies and VHS Expansion Technology developed by the company over the years in the business. The company's CCTV cameras lineup, which is consisted of box and dome models, employ CCDs of similar sizes, mostly 1/4 inch and 1/3 inch CCDs.
