Demand for color TVs may return to pre-1997 levels
Article Abstract:
The global demand for color TVs is projected to reach 115 million units in the FY99, which is equivalent to the volume in 1997. The uptrend has been attributed to the increasing demand in Western Europe, a buoyant US economy, a 10%-growth in demand in China and the recovery of Southeast Asian economies. Global demand for color TVs fell by 10 million units to 105 million in FY98 as a result of economic recession in Southeast Asia, Latin America, Eastern Europe and Russia.
