Toshiba becomes 2nd source for M-Systems' flash storage
Article Abstract:
M-Systems Flash Disk Pioneers and Toshiba have signed a strategic agreement, wherein Toshiba's flash technology would be combined with M- Systems' flash disc. Toshiba would also become a second source for M- Systems' DiskonChip2000, a 32-pin, single-chip, non-volatile flash disc that can emulate a hard disc. It requires no dedicated controllers and provides a direct interface with the CPU as well as advanced hardware- level error detection and correction on the fly.
