Voice Trek VN-180/90 IC recorders

Olympus Optical Co Ltd's Voice Trek VN-90 and VN-180 IC recorders adopt large buttons for improved operability. Presented with LCDs on one side of the mechanism, the recorders can store as many as 300 messages. They start recording automatically when they detect sound, and stop 1 sec after the sound halts. Also, the products offer instant-replay and time-telling modes, and include a schedule folder and an alarm replay. Prices are $128 for the VN-90 and $165 for the VN-180.

As CD-Rs gain converts, prices of CD recorders fall within reach

Article Abstract:

Teac is introducing the CD-RW5000 CD recorder for use in recording studios, post-production facilities and mastering studios. The CD-RW5000 can record and play back all CD-R and CD-W media, including CD-R-DAs and CD-RW-DAs. The CD-RW5000 also has ports for XLR balanced and RCA unbalanced analog input and output terminals. Its XLR digital input meets the standards of the Audio Engineering Society and the European Broadcast Union.

ICD-BP220, ICD-BP12O IC recorders

Article Abstract:

Sony Corp introduces its ICD-BP220 and ICD-BP12O IC recorders each have an originally developed codec for high sound quality and highly efficient compression. With 32MB, the ICD-BP220 can record up to 11 hrs and 30 min in long-play mode. The ICD-BP120, with 16MB, can record around 5 hrs and 30 min in long-play mode. Both recorders feature a voice-mail transmission function and measure 14.0 x 44.5 x 105 mm and weigh 79 g.
