A model for an integrated manufacturing system implementation in China: a case study

Article Abstract:

The process that a Chinese company implemented to improve its manufacturing system is described in a detailed manner. The firm was established in 1986 and has been recognized as one of the most reputable Original Design Manufacturer in China's consumer electronics business. The process is an integrated manufacturing strategy incorporating total quality management, manufacturing resources planning and real-time monitoring systems. The strategy puts an emphasis on the appropriate use of modern technology and the management of technology change.

Handbooks as a tool for organizational learning: a case study

Article Abstract:

Handbooks highly influence learning in technology-based industries. They serve as an effective guide in the development, design, and operation of an organization. These are the findings in a study of a number of oil firms operating in the North Sea. In addition, the elements of content simplicity, handbook availability, user motivation among others, which make handbooks an effective tool for experience transfer, are suggested for consideration in future studies.

Accelerating technology transfer: thinking about organizational pronoia

Article Abstract:

Organizations with high levels of pronoia, a philosophy of trust on people, prosper faster and obtain better competitive statures. When organizations trust and value their people in the process of transfering technology, the result is an efficient and competitive firm. This is the result of a conceptual analysis made on high-technology-based organizations using a paranoia-pronoia topology model.
