Air jets lift wings and boost heat exchangers

Article Abstract:

The new jet enhanced longitudinal vortex effect uses low pressure air jets coming off aircraft wing surfaces to prevent the boundary layer from separating. The wings must be placed at an angle to airflow direction, to prevent turbulence and lack of lift. The effect should improve aircraft wing lift by up to 22% in critical conditions, including landing and take-off. The discovery could be applied to all fluid flow situations, including wind turbines and ships. The effect could improve the efficiency of heat exchangers by 30-40%.

Art-to-part goes fastest by 3D

Article Abstract:

Computer-aided design (CAD) technology is continually improving to aid the detailed analysis and design process of three-dimensional models for prototyping. It is now possible for models to be produced quickly and efficiently for testing purposes within the industry. Engineers are able to design parts by making easy-to-use amendments to boundary and load conditions. Several products, including third-party software, are discussed.
