Blast proof services
Article Abstract:
Haden Maintenance's contract to instal the electrical and mechanical services for BP's oil refinery at Coryton, England, included a range of tight specifications. All installations for the central control building had to be blast proof, services could have only one point of entry and exit, and systems had to be safe, with no risk of sparks or escaping gases. All personnel had to work in full personal protection equipment, and Haden introduced a special incentive scheme which awarded cash bonuses to workers and their favourite charities for accident-free working days.
