Brownfield sites 'could need cash for clearance.'
Article Abstract:
The UK government will need to invest in reclaiming contaminated land if it is to meet its targets for building homes on brownfield sites, according to the RTPI. This has been denied by the government, which claims that many sites only need limited reclamation work. Indeed, part of the problem will be addressed through the use of the 'polluter pays' initiative. However, the government has not completely ruled out the possibility for providing additional funding for reclamation work.

Accommodating differencs
Article Abstract:
The recent 42nd World Congress of the International Federation for Housing and Planning (IFHP) looked at the theme 'accommodating differences.' Speakers told of the discrimination and segregation often felt by the homeless and those in very poor quality housing, and considered how professional responses could be contributing to these problems. Delegates heard reports of the thoughtless treatment of street dwellers and of housing policies which isolate minorities.
